Flabby Arms: Is it possible to get rid of them?

Do you shudder at the thought of wearing an evening dress, having your flabby arms exposed to all to see? There are many faults you can hide as a woman; bad legs or a mommy tummy, but it’s pretty hard to keep your arms out of sight. Forget about wearing a tank top on hot days, or cute dresses in summer. Extra weight on your arms is impossible to hide.

Many women end up with loose skin around their arms as they get older. There are a variety of causes; it may be from weight gain, child birth or diminished muscle tone. It’s a common problem with very few solutions.

Losing weight does not always solve the problem. While you may end up with smaller arms, you will likely still be getting around with that elephant arm look, especially if you have lost weight through diet and not exercise. Many weight loss programs that do not include exercise will likely result in muscle as well as fat loss. This means that while your size has diminished, so has your strength and muscle tone.

It’s quite difficult to lose weight in just one particular area. In fact, it’s practically impossible. Many people are genetically more inclined to carry weight around their arms and upper body, they simply just have more fat cells there than other people. Arms are often the hardest place to lose weight from, and often for people who have shifted a large amount of weight, the last place they lose it from.

The first step in eliminating flabby arms is aerobic exercise and proper diet. This will eliminate fat throughout your whole body. As mentioned, this alone is not enough to get rid of flabby arms. To do this, you will also need a focussed, personalised strength training routine.

Building up muscle definition in your arms will not only improve your strength and overall health but it will make your arms appear long, lean and toned. The other great things about muscle, is that it needs calories to maintain itself. This means that the more muscle you have, the more calories you will burn. This in turn contributes to weight loss and later, weight maintenance.

If you are one of those people who tend to lose weight and then put it back on again, poor muscle tone may be contributing to this pattern. Crash diets cause your body to use muscle as fuel. When you return to normal eating, you have less muscle and burn less calories, causing weight gain. While diet is a great tool for weight loss, without the proper exercise and strength training you may actually be contributing to your own weight problems.

The key to a life time of great looking arms and a healthy weight is a personalised program made just for you by a qualified personal trainer. If you are serious about creating a great body not just for now, but for a lifetime, getting the help of a professional may be a positive step for you have been waiting to take.

I Can Finally Go Sleeveless: Want to Know How?

When summer hits and the layers of clothing peel off, women around the world begin to dread revealing certain parts of their bodies. For some, it’s their tummies, for others it’s dimply arms. For me, it’s always been my wobbly arms.

When I wave goodbye there is a whole ripple effect thing that happens. I’ve always looked at women with toned arms with envy. It’s easy to hide most body flaws, you can dress around child bearing hips or a flabby tummy, but it’s a lot more difficult to hide your arms. Tank tops and delicate dresses are not for me. In the past I have gotten through formal events by wearing a short dress and a light cardigan. Not the most elegant look, but better than elephant arms!

Some people say age is what causes flabby arms; once you get them you can’t get rid of them. That’s just rubbish if you ask me. I’ve never had good arms. It’s not that I haven’t tried, before my wedding I had a personal trainer set me up with a series of exercises. There was improvement, but not a great deal. At the end of the three month program my trainer just shrugged and told me I must have bad genes.

It was with a healthy does of skepticism that I accepted an offer to review Go Sleeveless. Results were promised in ten days, so I figured I would give it a shot.

Go Sleeveless is an exercise program developed by Rylan Duggan, a personal trainer from British Columbia. Duggan has plenty of fitness qualifications and the gorgeous physique to back them up.

While the program does cover aspects of diet, the main focus is exercise. Duggan has developed a series of focused cardio and strength work outs which eliminate problem areas with minimal time and effort. He is informally known as a problem part specialist, he provides training for women wanting to eliminate fat from their arms, tummies, bottoms and thighs.

The exercises are quite fun and much easier than I expected. Every second night after dinner I would complete a short workout, usually in front of the TV. The program requires four workouts of around twenty minutes each a week. All of the equipment I needed was in my garage already, albeit covered in dust.

It was not until day seven that I noticed a result. A girlfriend invited me out for a drink on a Saturday night, I donned my favorite jeans and a loose fitting singlet top. As I reached for my leather jacket, I caught the reflection of my arm in my dressing table mirror. It was looked long and sleek, there were no signs of the loose skin I normally would hide under a jacket. The wobble was gone. These were not my arms! After a quick couple of bicep curl poses in the mirror I headed out for my drink, leaving my jacket on the bed.

On day ten the results were so impressive I was convinced Rylan Duggan had snuck into my room at night and performed plastic surgery on me in my sleep. I really can’t think of any way to explain these results in just ten days. I’m lighter on the scales and have also noticed a difference to my stomach and thighs. My jeans are looser, I’ve lost at least one dress size. My husband is amazed as well, insisting on taking me out shopping for a new sleeveless dress. I’m not quite sure where I’m going to wear it yet, but I’m sure I’ll come up with something!

I’m not going to be mistaken for a body builder, but I have lean looking arms with a hint of definition. More importantly, they are free of loose skin, dimply fat and without a hint of wobbliness. These are the arms I never thought I could have!
